Google Analytics push version 4 for any new account created now. As Google Analytics 4 shows some potential and it may be far more superior than Universal Analytics in the future, there are still many features missing in it. Right now, the Universal Analytics interface is still more user-friendly and most of you will be able to get the answers faster than with GA4.
IMPORTANT: This applies only to newly created properties. If you already have a GA4 property created and you want to migrate it together with its data is IMPOSSIBLE. If that’s your case, you will still have to create the Universal Analytics property and start collecting data there. Currently, there is no data transfer mechanism between two GA versions.
How to create Universal Analytics property?
- Go to Admin of your Google Analytics (of any property) and then click Create Property in the Property section.
-
Enter the property name, select your reporting timezone, currency. Then click Show advanced options:
-
Click the toggle next to Create a Universal Analytics property then additional settings will be displayed.
- Enter the URL of the website
- Select whether you want to create both GA4 and UA properties (best) or if you want to create just a UA property.
- Click Create
Now you will have Google Analytics 3 property on your Google Analytics account.
